MING!FILM Re-scribes Web Series Project
After a very productive and efficient shoot at Tillie's Bean "2", MING! Film is launching a new project at that same location - TILLIE'S ALL NIGHT BEAN - a web series featuring actors from the DEAF BE NOT PROUD CAST (and hopefully a re-appearance of Shari Goldberg, previously seen in the prize-winning LIFE CYCLE short, in an ongoing role as a ghost!) with scripts by writer/director/producer David CC Erickson and co-production by Perry Lueders. The story will follow the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 coffee shop, run by a caffeine-addled owner and an ascerbic assistant. Pre-production is underway, from fleshing out characters and storylines to addressing the logistics of the onsite shoots. ###

MING!FILM wraps principal photography for DEAF BE NOT PROOUD
Co-producing the Screenwriters' Workshop "Script to Screen" prizewinner Karen Frank's script DEAF BE NOT PROUD, principal photography was wrapped 9/15 at 1:30AM after an outstanding effort by crew and cast. Production efforts by Perry Lueders, as the SWW steward of the project were crucial to execution to the fullest extent possible under the $2,000 budget constraints. With 15 onscreen actors and the requirements for costuming, set dressing and props, the funds were stretched to the limit. MING!FILM continued its policy of paying actors for their efforts, even if only a small stipend. A rough cut has been assembled and the final edit, with sound, music and credits completed will be delivered to the October 24th SWW Annual meeting for the premier showing. The finished film then becomes the sole property of screenwriter Karen Frank, with exclusive rights to copyright protection, all exploitation and profits realized from such.

MING!FILM Producing Web Serial "DAVIDO LOCO" For Online Channels
One-man show, David CC Erickson, is taking on the serial dramedy genre with the original series "DAVIDO LOCO", the adventures of a movie producer slowly losing his marbles as he searches for the "perfect" story. Writing is underway, with a production startup target of mid-June. Shari Goldberg, whose outstanding work in LIFE CYCLE was critical to its success, will be recruited for the role of Claire, Davido's Life Coach and ex-agent. The series explores the creative process and the amorphous reality that sometimes plagues the mentally ill, with writer Erickson drawing on his own struggles with bipolar disorder.

David CC Erickson chosen as finalist for McKnight Screenwriting Fellowship!
The two winners of the fellowship will be announced in June. The prize of $25,000 would be marginally invested in updating MING!FILM's editing suite and then stashed away as a fund for future productions.
The qualifying script THE COUNTRY ON THE CORNER, is a comedy about a 4th grade school teacher who, when his property is found to be its own country, decides to recreate the American Dream of independence. From the tyranny of Uncle Sam.

MING!FILM News - 1st Prize and Best Screenplay for LIFE CYCLE at Screenlabs Challenge 2008!
David CC Erickson's "LIFE CYCLE" short film has taken 1st place and Best Screenplay in the Screenlabs Challenge 2008!
MING!FILM co-production of Polycarp Productions' "GOOD LOVE RISES" came away with the 2nd place prize, giving MING!FILM and David CC Erickson a triple play in the Minnesota-exclusive competition!

Extra special thanks to Shari Goldberg (http://www.myspace.com/sharig) who did a fantastic job on "LIFE CYCLE" with MING!FILM's innovative "internet collaboration" as she delivered completed footage via email and YouTube, having never actually met Writer/Director David CC Erickson, and who stepped up with an outstanding performance that significantly raised the quality of the final product. As part of MING!FILM's participation agreement, she receives a substantial percentage of all proceeds realized from her collaboration. "LIFE CYCLE" will be circulated among the appropriate festivals in the coming months.

David CC Erickson - Film Festival debut for MING!FILM & Current Work
MING!FILM is a Minneapolis-based film production company founded by David CC Erickson
1) MING!FILM's first short film BORN TO THE STARS will have its Festival Premier at the Twin Cities Underground Film Festival. It is one of only 4 films selected from local filmmakers as part of a program of 38 shorts and features.
BORN TO THE STARS - showing Sunday, September 21st, 4pm.
Synopsis - Homeland Security Agent Jay Kapstan feels like he doesn't belong in this world and an intruder alert on his shift at the surveillance office reveals why.

2) MING!FILM has again responded to the Screenlabs Challenge with another highly unusual tale, this one set far in the future. And not so far:

Julie was awarded Best Film and Best Screenplay in the ScreenLabs Challenge for her compelling 2007 entry, FORGOTTEN, and is a formidable talent in this year's competition as well.
4) MING!FILM's short film ON THE LAST DAY, based on the feature-length script by David CC Erickson continues to wait out its festival submission status and will be released to all available channels later this year. The trailer can be viewed at mingfilm.com.
